The Key Bridge Collapsed After Being Struck by a Cargo Ship
Tragedy struck last night as the Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed. Around a dozen cars fell into the Patapsco River, along with construction workers who were working on the bridge. According to the many news articles, a cargo ship that was going 9 mph issued a "mayday" early Tuesday heading towards Francis Scott Key Bridge, losing power before it crashed into the bridge. As the ship struck the bridge in the middle of the night, a loud noise could be heard from ashore and many witnessed from a distance as the chaos happened. As of today at 11 a.m., authorities have been searching for multiple survivors and victims. They are searching for the six construction workers who had been repairing the potholes on the bridge.
